Fat
You. Are. Not. Fat.
Yes. You. The one that is reading this right now.
There. I said it out loud. Whew. Read it again if you'd like.
Now, hear me out for a few minutes before you leave in rage... or try to prove me wrong with anger and rage.
I started carrying this hypothesis early on in my career shift to strength and nutrition coach back in 2006.
The body. Your body does indeed have fat. Fat is required for the body to live and function. Every body on this planet has fat. Some more than others. It's no different than every body on this planet has muscle. Some more than others.
I am going to go a little deeper now so stay with me. That fat, on your body, is your ARMOR. It protects You in so many ways. Yes, I know this is contrary to what 99% of others say, believe and think and I don't mind. Let it sink in for a moment. Feel it. It's your fkng ARMOR. It. Keeps. You. Safe.
Now close your eyes and imagine a "Warrior."...any warrior from your life (such as friend, coach, martial artist, dancer, survivor, teacher, etc) or from a movie, book, comic, etc. Picture an image of that Warrior you admire. It could be a woman. It could be a man. It doesn't matter. Keep that image in your mind for a minute. Feel that image. If you want, say softly within... I am that Warrior... I am _________________.
Now open your eyes. Here's the question...
Why in the world would you EVER give up that ARMOR???
WHY??? Even when a loved one asks you to take it off? Even when 99% of society guilts and shames You about an arbitrary number on a piece of metal called a scale? Even when other organs in the body are starting to fail? Even when the joints of the body are starting to become uncomfortable and not operate like they used to? Do you know of any Warrior in the history of this world that ever just took off their ARMOR in the middle of "their battle" because of guilt and shame?
You and ONLY You get to decide when it's time to take off that ARMOR and set it down. And you can always pick it up and put it back on. That's your free will. No one and no thing can ever take that from you no matter how much guilt and shame is used.
I see you. I feel you. I accept you with your ARMOR just as you are in this moment.
Much love and gratitude for us all 💪🤍💖💫
