Tongue and Cheek, tongue and feet
long before i was born on to this planet, there were pioneers from thousands of years ago that discovered the vast amount of connections within the body that are not documented and taught in standard schooling and education... in fact, we still know very little about the body in my humble opinion... and what we think we know is statistically insignificant.
In my short lifetime, Ida Rolf is one of those pioneers and teachers. I never had the pleasure of meeting the woman. i was fortunate enough to work with one of her students directly who studied with her in the 1970s. His name is David Davis and he’s now in Tucson, AZ. i have also been fortunate to learn from a few of her other students on an indirect level such as Tom Myers (anatomy trains), John Barnes (myofascial release), Til Luchau (advanced trainings) and Guy Voyer (ELDOA). All of them have had a profound impact on the work I get to do with others.
so let’s get to it...
your tongue and your feet are connected... period. the end.
don’t take my word for it though. find out for yourself. start by staying present in your body longer and notice what you notice. there is no agenda or goal with this. only awareness.
if you wish to study the anatomy of it, read about the Deep Front Line (DFL) of fascia from anatomy trains; read about applied kinesiology; find an ELDOA practitioner and learn about how Guy Voyer taught his method.
here’s a different way to look at the connection between the tongue and feet.... your tongue is a sword... its very powerful (think words and spells) and it’s directly linked to the throat chakra. the throat chakra is where you stand in your power and speak your truth no matter what anyone thinks AND without making others wrong. well think about it... the more open that chakra (throat) is and the more malleable the tongue is (think tongue being able to move freely within your mouth) not only are you able to stand and speak your truth... you are able to MOVE within your truth...ie your feet... and the latter is more important in my humble opinion.
cheers. jeff
